Can't sleep at all! its worse if i see a movie or read a book.?!


Question: i'm 13 and i've had trouble sleeping since i was 11 or so. my mind just can't relax! i've tried counting sheep and meditating but they just won't work!
if i see a movie or read a book even in the morning, i'll think about it the whole night. if i see the movie in a theatre( esp. love stories) or read a book that really grips me, i'll think about for weeks or even months in a row..
i know u'll tell me the usual thngs..relax ur mind, drink milk, no caffeine, don't c movies but they don't work..
and i can't go through the rest of my life not watching movies or reading books..
if u know any way, plz help me out..

Wow. You could be a genius. Here's why. You share common characteristics. You're focused in on what you're computing- the book, the movie, whatever. If you were just staying awake and not thinking about anything in particular I would be worried. You, however, have the gift of focus. When you do sleep your brain will auto pilot organize all the data you've collected since your last sleep and make use of it. This is not just speculation. Laboratory Science, not the fake sciences, has shown that sleep is where we learn. Don't be scared. If you can't sleep talk to your parents. I'm sure if you just had a lil' helper to go to sleep you'd do excellent.

THEN DON'T SLEEP, WHATS THE BIG DEAL?SOUNDS LIKE YOU ALREADY HAVE SEEKED ADVICE, YOU ALREADY HAVE THE ANSWERS.

you must go see a psychologist and talk to him about it.. you can tell him everything that you are going through! maybe all you need is just some counseling... get help :)

make your room completely dark and shut your eyes.

I'm not too sure on this one but maybe you should go and see a doctor and maybe he might be able to put you on some sleeping pills.
You're young so I'm not sure if there are any sleeping pills that are suitable for you. But its worth the try of asking if it gets you some sleep.
Some people just dont need that whole 8 hours of sleep. So maybe you're just one of those people.
Stay up one night and see how long it takes you to get tired enough to fall asleep.
What I do is if you have an iPOD or any form of an mp3 player, listen to it until you fall asleep. It works for me because I have those problems every now and then.

Get an appointment with your doctor, & ask if a sleep study is called for. Clearly things are not right, & a diagnosis is the first step in the right direction..

Maybe u should learn some ways to overcome your insomnia problem through hypnosis at my profile.
