Is it possible to get help without my parents knowing?!

Question: if i went to a shrink or something would my parents have to know? if i told them that i cut, could they tell my parents? could i pay for it without my parents finding out? i have counselors at school, but honestly they suck.

a person under 18 or whatever age can get help without their parents finding out i'm not sure about paying but i know that a shrink or phsychatrist or whoever they are
are supposed to keep their trap shut if the patient asks them to
some people HAVE to tell parents if the child is being hurt in ANY way it all really depends on who you go to
counslers at school would probably have to tell parents if the child is gettin' hurt or huting themseleves in any way
so be EXTREMELY careful about the person you talk to
and about the money issue tell your parents you need a phsychatrist but do't tell them what you need one for unless your ready and make the person you go to promise you they won't tell you're parents but tell them you'll do so when YOU'RE ready

Anyway i truly hope you get what you're looking for and good luck
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!
don't do anything until you're ready please please and if your parents are understanding try telling them but PLEASE don't do anything until you're ready PLEASE

call your local mental health services and see what they can provide for you....it can be confidential....

yes, they can tell your parents because that's attemptive suicide.

you need to tell your parents, stop being stubborn, they can help you out. they will not judge you. they love you no matter what, you're their own flesh and blood.

you can't get help because youre only a minor.
therapy costs are very high and your health insurance
knocks it down somewhat. i don't think you have enough
to fork out weekly.

tell your parents, you can't defeat depression on your own.
and i'm saying this because i went off of my concerta[stimulant] for three years because i thought i could deal with my ADHD on my own. but i couldn't. i also try to deal with my bipolar disorder by myself, and that's very hard even though i'm on meds.

so tell your parents. don't be an idiot like i was about mental health. cause you'll make a huge mistake in doing that. you need support, you need family to be there for you.

How old are you and in what country?
Have you talked to your doctor? They can refer you to a counsellor, therapist or psych, it depends on your age whether this would be confidential. You can always ask at your first meeting what their confidentiality policy is so that you are clear. They shouldn't have to tell your parents about self injury, but if you were a serious risk to yourself or others they may have to be involved, again it depends on your age. Try to remember though, what they do they do in your best interests, to keep you safe.

All calls to 1-800-SUICIDE are confidential.

well u can in ireland but im not too sure there i saw fone a shrink and find out
