How can I explain to my parents?!

Question: OK, I cannot take pills anymore. It does a terrible thing to my body. I am depressed, I feel headaches, I keep quiet all day long and I don't eat, and I only eat enough just to keep a small amount of nutrients in my body. I rely on toast, cottage cheese, and very little fruit. I've found a way to get away with it. So I started not taking pills ever since 2 weeks ago, and now I have therapy twice a week and my parents are saying that I'm talking too much, and now I'm eating normal again. This is because I'm not taking my medicine. They're saying that they should increase the dosage. How can I tell my parents that I'm not taking my pills? Because now they're just going to watch me take my pills again and I will, like I said, get very little nutrients in my body.

Maybe you just need to switch the pills to a different kind. Sometimes one kind can cause side effects in person, but a different kind will be OK in that person. Your pills should help you, not make you feel worse. That said, it can be dangerous to just stop taking some antidepressants & other medicines that work in the brain. Sometimes you can get really bad side effects from stopping quickly...you need to slowly back off the drug. Next time I wouldn't do that without talking to your doctor. Please try to talk to your parents, or your doctor. I know your parents might be mad, but they really just want to help you feel better. If they understand that you weren't eating and you were getting headaches, then they hopefully they will try to help. I think maybe switching to a different medicine will help. But please, keep taking your medicine, next time. Don't stop without talking to your doctor first ...it's not safe.

Just tell them you stopped taking your pills. Direct is best.

just tell them that you know that once you started to take the pill you noticed that you changed and then you stoped and thats why you your eating right and talking

jus say mom...dad....im not taking the pills....simple enough rite?

Tell them how the pills make you feel and that you stopped taking them. Your parents should be happy that you noticed and that you ARE eating. Do they not want you to eat and talk? R u suppose to be a controlled robot? Maybe they can try another medication that deals with your need and doesn't change your eating habits or who you are as a person.
