What are good ways to develop some positive self esteem?!

Question: I don't have very much confidence in myself and my friends are always telling me that, and I know it's true but I just don't know how to view myself in a positive light. I always feel like I'm not pretty enough, not funny enough, not smart enough. It's strange because like factually, I know that I'm not any uglier or prettier than the next girl, and my friends always say I'm funny, and I get good grades and I scored a 1920 on my SATs but it's about the way I feel. So I know even if I studied more or wore more makeup or whatever, it wouldn't really help because for some reason I feel like it's never enough. I push people away and am really shy simply because I feel... unworthy and of course that just makes everything worse. Are there some good ways to build up self esteem that I can do on my own, or should I see a councilor about this?

Make a list of five or so positive things about yourself. Carry it with you and look at it when your feeling low. Add to this list as your feel better. I did this for awhile once when I was going through a rough spot. I found it hard at first but eventually I came to believe those positive parts of myself. Because I was so focused on what I thought I wasn't, I couldn't see what I truly was. So basically I learned to see myself more positively and after awhile of doing this I felt stronger and more able to try new things because I wasn't so afraid to fail. Be Well.

Be a Crackpot it is not a silly answer instead of trying to be perfect trying to please every one just be your self releax and if people, friends don't like it to bad ,better off with out them and by saying to people hello I am a crackpot it tacks the presure off you to be perfect and wend you make a mistake or not perfect what dose it matter for you are a crackpot.

Look in the mirror every morning and say things like, i look pretty 2day. When you have negative thoughts in your head about yourself, change them to posative ones. Like yourself, have respect for yourself and if you think someone thinks things about you like, shes boring and not funny or shes ugly or stuff like that, just think oh well i know what i am and thats all that matters. It dosnt matter what others think about you its what you think about yourself. If you look in the mirror and think, im ugly, im stupid, im fat, then you will walk around with that image of yourself and think that thats the way others are seeing you, when its just you that thinks that because you have convinced yourself that thats what you are. So always change negative thoughts into posative ones. Love yourself and smile alot. Hope i helped xx
