I got arrested once on a really stupid charge, and my car got impounded at the same time. I paid my own bond to get released, and I had to race to the ATM to get more cash for the tow truck company before they closed or I wouldn't be able to get to work the next day. To make matters worse, I was afraid I'd end up overdrawing my bank account to pay for everything and I KNEW I had to ask the boss for an advance the next day to cover it -- and tell him why.
I didn't cry until I told him why.
