3 months till navy (bootcamp). Need tips on curing neurosis?!

Question: The past four years of my life have been hell. My neurosis was caused by the amount of stress I was put through during that time.

The first stressor was trying to find a career after high school.(I finished an associates degree in mechanical engineering tech.)

The second was that I surrounded myself with friends that were neurotics( Including a girlfriend who was the queen of neurosis and constantly blamed me for problems in the relationship)

Thirdly I took a job as a drafter where most my co-workers were on depression medication.

The first step I took was to quit my job to have some alone time and relax.

The next step is to join the seabees so I can learn how to do more guy stuff and learn better social skills.

I am slowly but surely learning how to be more relaxed during my 3 month "vacation". I am having lots of success

I am looking for tips and activities to help me become a more relaxed person so I won't be so uptight while im in the navy.

First things first You will become a new man not who you are now this one will be eliminated.

When you enter the base Your life as you know it now stops It no longer is wanted.
You are going to become a new person a new American a new way of seeing things

Boot camp is the place where your mind is retrained to think as a group not as one.

When you leave your first meeting of the DI you will get a new vision of what a man is. One you have never know existed. A real Man.

And you are in the best place on planet earth to learn how to become this new man.

So do not worry about what you are now that is going to be deleted when you become a seaman recruit and when you leave you will be called a Seaman.

I have been there in the Coast Guard at Capemay N.J boot camp and stayed in and retired in "1986" and I just turned 61 and only work when I get bored.

The only thing I can tell you is to pay attention to your Company Commander/DI. They want you to get through boot camp and be successful in the service.
As far as stress goes, thee will be some. The person that can handle it and come out on top will be the better for it. One other thing, you are doing what a lot of other people won't do. Hold your head up and be proud.
By the way, I'm an ex-squid.
