why change the habit, night shifts often pay more? but really i have heard that 21 days is all it takes to change a habit. start setting your alarm for like an hour before you want up so you can snooze button your way into it and by day 21 it should be easier. try going to bed earlier too, if its hard there are pills like simply sleep that can help til you adjust. stop the caffeine at least 4 hours before sleep, alcohol helps knock some of us out maybe that will work for you maybe not. but if you get to sleep early and start a habit of getting up earlier even if you have to nap in the day until you adjust it will help change your sleep pattern and eventually it will be where you want it. hey i went from midnight shift to up at 630am (when i was getting off work at 4am i went to bed at 6am) in just 2 weeks so its possible.

Well, my boyfriend, who is pretty lazy (!) has a GOAL now, and that is to work out in the gym early morning. He is now determined and excited about it all so gets up in the morning no problem. PASSION to do something is what gets people out of bed early!

early to bed...early to rise.....makes u mentally sound...

All living beings whether it human, mammel, plant or fungi operate on a circadian clock. It determines your waking and sleeping cycles.

ever since I was a young kid I was always called a 'night owl'. I would be sleepy and sluggish during the day, struggling to stay awake in school, always had to work a 2nd shift job because I just couldn't wake up in time to make it to work 1st shift. I got my first job at 13. I'm 45 now. I've had (3) 1st shift jobs and was fired from all 3 because I couldn't seem to get there on time. Even if i was able to wake up early enough, I would still be late because I just couldn't get motivated enough to get myself around to be there on time. I've never been fired from a 2nd or 3rd shift job. After about 20 yrs of sleepless night, unable to hold a first shift job no matter how hard I tried...I finally broke down and when to the dr about it. You don't know how bad I wanted to be able to sleep at night! or maybe you do, LOL. I thought maybe I had insomnia or something. the dr had me take a sleep study and it showed nothing wrong with my sleep cycles, even though I stayed awake all night and they had to reschedule the sleep study for day tiime which is when I usually slept (4 or 5am to noon was my sleeping habit). The dr told me it all boiled down to my circadian clock. he said "that's just how you're wired". He would't prescribe sleeping pills so I started taking Tylenol PM. it worked wonders. it was sooo nice to be able to actually sleep at night!

Sooo...u might schedule an appt with your dr to make sure there's nothing medical wrong with you and then if all else fails try a OTC sleep aid. I used them for probably 15 yrs. and then I developed depression and the doc now has me on an antidepressant which helps with my sleep so I no longer have to take OTC sleep aids.

Wake up early like 4am. Dont worry about when you'll sleep just focus on getting up early
