...yeah some things will freak you out at times,.

I'm 34 and sometimes I seem to feel things in a "heightened" sense...Though I doubt this is normal(!), I think the trick is learning how to recognize it as you, 'yourself' doing it...

..be this because you're over tired, have an active imagination, or maybe you just ate too many orange smarties..

If you can figure out the 'trigger' then you can figure out either how best to avoid, or knowing that you're in for a rough night, try and do something/anything that might help relax you,. (bubble bath,. hot water bottle, curling up with good movie/book)

...oh I was joking about the orange smarties!! but avoid ALL stimulatants for a couple of hours before your normal bed time,. ie: NO tea, no coffee, no cola,. no chocolate, you might also want to add no cheese!

Also you can try simple 'breathing' exercises,. just being calm,. breathing, clear your thoughts,. just for 5-10mins before bed,. can help..

Good luck,.

It's probally just OCD.

maybe yo ushould change your sheets, take a nice looooong shower, eat healthy and stop at 7 nad then turn your mattress over and sleep on that side.
even though you don't fall asleep, make yourself ready and in bed by 8. after about a week and a half yu'll fall asleep quicker

that happened to me ALOT
i just went throught stages...............ul live

That used to happen to me all the time when I was younger until I was like 15 I guess. I dunno maybe it's just part of adolescence.

Or maybe there's something on your mind that troubles you at night?

Try drinking a hot cup of tea or something before bed, or taking a hot bath. It'll relax you and maybe help you sleep quicker.

when i was a kid.. i had this too... sometimes had racing thoughts at night, hard to sleep, couldn't get comfortable, distractions...

you are in an amazing time in your life, so much happening, so much going on in your life and your body. hormones are flowin'. cliques at school... body changing..

maybe you need to work on your bedoom and your sleep space...
Make it really comfortable.
Get rid of your tv, cell phne, phone, computer, etc... from anywhere near your bed.
Get some ear plugs, and an eye mask.
Make your bedroom a santuary for yourself.
The only thing you should do in bed is *sleep*
Don't drink anything stimulating after about 4pm. No cokacola, no ied tea, etc....
Maybe if you like music, you can have some soft quiet slow music in the background OR use a radio to give yourself some white noise, that will help block out the outside noises coming into your room (like the TV your parents are watching in the Living Room... lol)
Don't do your homework in bed. don't talk on the phone. don't text message your friends, etc... no computer or TV for at least an hour before bed... read or draw or do something equally as quiet... yoga, meditaition, file your nails, etc... but no computier or TV......

then when it's time to go to sleep...
try breathing deeply and relaxing every muscle in your body.
focus on each on in turn.....

i've never gotten past my stomach. lol
then i'm asleep.
good luck

i'm the same. it got that bad that i started wearing earplugs. u can buy a pack of soft earplugs from most chemists / pharmacy's. they take a little getting used to, but totally worth it. u could also try getting lavender essential oil drops, and put a couple of drops on your quilt. the smell is supposed to help relaxation. and if u can stand it, a warm milky drink before bed can also help u to relax.

It sounds like you're really sensitive to sounds (and maybe other things) like I am. One thing that helps me is to put on headphones and listen to music until I fall asleep. Honestly, it's causing problems because people think I'm being controlling when I ask them to be quiet, when really it's driving me insane. I'm not sure what it's called, but I have anxiety disorder, panic disorder, OCD, and depression if any of that relates. Hope you get that worked out.
