Looking in the mirror?!


Question: When I look in the mirror, I don't see me. I see my reflection, but don't really recognize it. I get lost in my eyes and start zoning out. I see a primate and can't figure out how I'm in its body. It's as though I'm something separate looking at a physical body that's not occupied. Does anyone else feel this?

geez i just stare into the mirror long enoff to feel as if there is no glass seperating the girl i see and me and then i touch the glass and realize

i
hate
myself
and
that
if
i
only
waited
a
couple
more
seconds
i
could
go
through
and escape it all

no..i just look do what i have to do (i.e. wash my face, do my hair..etc) and get on with my life..i never took such time to go any futher. ..thanks for letting me know. *

imean ive looked in the mirror and thought i looked weird
but nothin lik that

sometimes i actually do, and its not weird. i used to feel it more often when i was younger, but not as much now. i dont think its anything abnormal, just your mind wandering =)

Actually I know what your talking about. i use to feel like that. Also if i tried to picture myself I couldnt ever get a clear idea of what I looked like. You just got to try to forget about it. Do your hair, your make up, whatever it is that you do and get out of there. anyone will get lost in the mirror or start picking apart all their imperfections if they are left looking at themselves to long.

No. Look up BDD (Body dysmorphic Disorder) or it could be umm....some like disease where you loose touch with reality and your body.

i honestly know exactly what you mean i have the same problem to the point were my friends are telling me that I'm creeping them out even if i see myself in the window i still just start to zone out But now when i see myself in the mirror i keep telling myself i look fine and if you exercise you will start to notice all the good quality's and stop thinking of yourself as a primate i hope this advice help you as it did me.
