Is it possible to deal with a psychological disorder by youself?!

Question: or would you HAVE to keep seeing a doctor

Answers: or would you HAVE to keep seeing a doctor

A person could control it possibly. Truly though, it depends on the condition, the severity of the condition, how aware the person is of the condition, and how willing they are to take action. Some disorders like phobias can be handled without doctor care. I personally am terrified of heights, but through some determination and putting myself in situations, I can now do fine on carnival rides, airplanes, and high buildings.

Other more severe disorders will need doctor care, but none of us could give you the right advice. The right thing to do is within your own mind. If you know it is something where the doctor has been the only thing that helped you, then you need to keep going or stay on the med. If not you can try working with it yourself. Just remember which ever the case to have perserverance and an open mind!

Depends on the disorder. There is a idea going around called the Secret that says that you can control your life by taking control of your thoughts, but I would get a doctor's advice before going on it alone.

If one knows that he has psychological problem then he need not see a doctor regularly. He can control it by auto suggestion etc.

But if one really has a psycho problem and if he thinks he does not have, then somebody else will take him to the doctor.

Our proffessor used to say,
if one thinks he is mad then he is really not mad.Mad people will never admit that they are mad.

Usually a chemical imbalance doesn't just solve itself. It's part of the brain, it's not like you have a flu or a cold which you can get rid of by resting.

Depends on the disorder i suppose if you read books and gained alot of information about the disorder you could help yourself but it might be worth going to see someone proffesional who could deal with it faster and better then trying to do it with no support!
Good Luck x]

you could. Some people deal better than others. If someone feels like they can go without a doctor then it's perfectly okay.

Don't go it alone. It's way too dangerous and just not worth the stress. Most would reccomend both a psychiatrist (if it's a medical condition like schizophenia or bipolar) and a therapist. Good luck.

It depends on the person, the severity of the disorder, and how much it is interfering with your life. Many deal with mental health issues on their own, but not all successfully. If it is interfering with your relationship, work, or health, it should be diagnosed by a mental health professional who can offer advice about whether long-term maintenance is necessary.

i guess it depends on the disorder. and if u want proffesional help i would see a doctor.
