Some people have psychotic symptoms for a short period of time without having a the full disorder of Schizophrenia.

Schizophrenia sometimes goes into remission, but it generally takes several years for that to happen (from what I have seen).

If someone was diagnosed with Schizophrenia and the symptoms only lasted a month, the diagnosis would most likely be changed to something else like Brief Psychotic Disorder. In addition, it's possible to have psychotic symptoms in the context of Major Depression, Bipolar Disorders, or certain Personality Disorders. Drug use or a medical illness could also cause temporary psychosis.

no, that would be called a psychotic break........

it would only be a phase if the patient didn't take their meds.
schizophrenia is a biological disorder in the brain, its a chemical imbalance. with meds, no problems. without meds, it can be scary.

i don't think so, from the things i've seen with the kids i work with it's usually a life-long condition that needs to be treated.

YES. in the early stages if it is treated early either by medicines/counselling/prayer or whatever.

You are safer to consider your answer in terms of no. Go and get assistance and I do wish you a speedy recovery.

Unfortunately, it is something that is permanent...I am sure there are degrees of the illness, that are aggravated by emotional distress, etc......I believe that people who truly suffer from this illness, have it always, and are suffering with it always...
