Why do I sleep for so long? I don't feel sick? Help?!

Question: A few months ago I worked mornings, now I work over nights. I had to get used to the schedule which I could understand being a little messed up but, now instead of not getting enough sleep, I have been sleeping way to much, like 12+ hours a day/night, if I didn't have to get up for work I can sleep longer. I don't think it has anything to do with work anymore because, It has been several months. If I only get 6-8 hours of sleep I feel tired for a few hours like normal and then I wake up but, if I have time in my day, I sleep in mid afternoon again for 2-6 hours. Why? I don't feel sick like mono or anything? I just hate sleeping my days away, and don't get anything done.

don't listen to other people, you are not being lazy. you might have Lupus or pleurisy! go to the doctor they know best... my sister suffers from lupus

I know its been several months but your body might still be getting used to the change in its sleep schedule. A doctor could probably make sure it is not anything else. Good Luck

Its alot easier being lazy pretty much! I use to work a swing shift and would sleep all up until work. Everyone loves sleep. Well you don't have to be up early anymore and your not doing it. Pretty much if you really wanted to get up you would. Or your just depressed =/

stop being LAZY~!! get up and go exercise and live your life or do something productive....stop wasting your life

I would personally go to the drs as it can be due to a thyroid problem, it may also be linked with all these great winter days :-(
