What are these emotions/moods that I'm experiencing?!

Question: I can be fine for weeks or even months at a time acting as my normal self, just very much an introvert (that's normal for me) but then all of a sudden something will happen. I'll get really angry over something, so bad that my husband says I'm scary, violent, fits of rage, not so much breaking things but throwing them, then I calm down the next day and go into almost a slightly hyper or elated phase, and then the next day or day after I go into a very depressive phase where I feel I'm at the end of my line and just want to die, I don't feel like living.

I have a General Doctor for other med stuff but told him it's not something I'm ready to take care of...because I feel the way I handle things works fine for me...when I'm in the depressive suicidal phase I self inflict - I didn't tell him that part.

Anyhow...I guess I'm just looking for an explanation. Any help would be appreciated. And this is easier for me because it's not "in person"...have a hard time with that.

You are manic-depressive. The manic state is where you feel as though you're racing, and the depressive stage is where you feel down. There are definitely medications that will help, but you could probably also use a counselor to help you learn to moderate your behavior.

its called bi polar just go see a shrink and some drugs will help it in time
