My councellor wants me to smoke put?!

Question: I am a very stressed individual (as are a lot of people). So I went to this councellor (for over a month now), and he said I would benefit from smoking pot. He also thinks kissing strippers is really funny and acceptable (even if you're engaged). :) It he giving me bad advice (to break the law), or is pot smoking actually going to decrease my stress?

doubt he's a real counselor.

first of all, a counselor should not be telling you what
he thinks is funny, he's VERY out of line if he's talking about kissing strippers.

and since hes telling you to smoke pot, then definitely report him. he needs to lose his liscense because he is provoking illegal activities and telling you adultery is okay. he is walking over the line of what to say to his patients.

weed is NOT beneficial.
do some yoga. but definitely not weed.
get a new counselor, he definitely does not
need to be taking your money from you because
he's not even helping you.

weed ruins your brain. especially if you're already
having issues. it's a depressant.

it's not going to decrease your stress,
it's going to make everything worse.
weed is a depressant. it ruins the balance of chemicals
and causes ADD like symptoms, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, hallucinations, and delusions.

are you sure hes a real counselor?
..maybe hes really stressed and is smoking pot too...
lol
But anyways, i guess it will help you 'mellow out' a bit, but you might get addicted to it and keep doing it later, also, it can put some tension on your other relationships if you can't lean to keep it under control.
If you want to try it, you could i guess, just make sure that hes legit and that you wouldn't get in trouble for smoking it (have a note or something from him, like a doctors note or whatever...)

P.S. the strippers thing... kinda weird, which is bringing me to ask you the question, are you sure hes a real counselor? lol

Hope I've Helped!~
:]

that councellor sounds nuts to me
however, i have panic attacks and smoking pot actually calms me down
im a spaz without it and just doing it once a week makes me waaaay calmer, idk i think it helps

if I were youI would get as far away from that person as I could , he can't be a real counceller, or else he is a pevert !!

in some states they have medical marijuana for depression and anxiety. the verdict is still out on whether it works or not.

telling you it is OK to kiss strippers or anyone else for that matter when you are in a relationship especially engaged is not right. you should seek help from someone else.

Obviously your counselor is really chill.
But I think it's inappropriate for him to suggest that to you.
It's really your choice. But contrary to potular belief (ha ha, get it? ok nevermind) marijuana doesn't necessarily relax you. While I'm not anti-weed, and I smoke it often, I really think it's ridiculous of people to promote it as some save-all herb that has a zillion trillion health benefits. I mean it's NICE, but it doesn't cure cancer (though I guess it relieves it for some people) or make the world golden or equate to world peace.
It's just a plant that some people smoke, and some people like it and some people don't.
Sometimes I smoke it and I feel intellectually stimulated and feel wonderful, and other times it just makes me feel really slow and drowsy and it's not really that interesting, and sometimes I panic on it.
ANYWAY the point is, your counselor sounds really shady to me and I would personally advise you to relieve stress by exercising (just once in a while, by taking a walk or something. it feels good), or just getting out in general.
and sleeping. either way, smoking pot can be nice sometimes. but don't use it too much or rely on it to make you feel good all the time. I learned the hard way..

See stress treatments, at ezy build, below on page 42. Practise daily, one of the relaxation techniques on pages 2, 11, 2c, or 2i; whichever works best for you, but the mindfulness breathing for 15 - 20 mns is ideal, although the progressive muscle relaxation can be learned quickly, and takes only several minutes, if pressed for time. Employ the EFT version for use in public, for which you can reasonably claim that you have a headache, as you massage/tap your temples, but it may be advisable to restrict yourself to subvocalising (saying it to yourself, in your mind, not aloud). Section 53, and pages 2, 2.q and 2.o refer. "Even though I sometimes suffer from stress, I deeply and completely accept myself".

You can also multitask, using the gazing technique, as you walk/jog or exercise, by focusing on a distant object, noting any thoughts which flash across your mind, without pursuing any particular train of thought, just gently redirect your focus to the gazing. Yoga, or Tai Chi may suit others, better. For some people, visualisation of a quiet, relaxing scene, like a tropical beach, (feel the sun warming you, as a gentle breeze caresses your skin lightly, inhaling the tangy, salt laden spray from the sparkling, translucent, aqua waves, crashing on the white, sandy beach, as the seagulls swoop and cavort playfully overhead in a cloudless, azure sky; you feel just like one of them; free to soar and cartwheel, or just glide, in the moist, heavy air, and that this moment will last forever.....) works well for them.

Take 4 Omega 3 fish oil supplements, daily, replacing 2 of them with cod liver oil supplements, or a teaspoonful of the oil (I spread mine on toast, and mask its strong taste with fishpaste, and pepper), in the winter months only. Those people who receive adequate exposure to sunlight, daily, won't need the vitamin D from cod liver oil, but many people, particularly those in latitudes far from the equator, find this difficult, to achieve. Eat healthily, in accordance with your "nutritional type" as determined at http://www.mercola.com/ SEARCHBAR.

Try having a cup of "Tension Tamer", herbal tea (from supermarket tea aisles) from Celestial Seasonings, or make some at home, and cool, then bottle, and drink as needed (I find it so strong tasting, that I need to drink it quickly, followed by something like fruit juice, to take away the taste, but others may find it more tolerable). C(h)amomile tea is a more palatable option. As with all herbal/green teas, use lemon/lime, and/or a little sweetener (NOT ARTIFICIAL!!!) but no cream, or milk.

Xylitol, or Stevia is preferable, (health food stores) or fruit sugar (fructose, such as "Fruisana", from supermarket sugar aisles) or even a little honey, because these will reduce "sugar spikes", which later deplete you of energy. Minimise/eliminate consumption of highly processed foods, particularly grain products, such as white bread, donuts, cake, cookies/biscuits, or anything with sugar. Opt for more wholefoods, non-starchy vegetables, and fruit. http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris Smoking ANYTHING is dangerous! Marijuana/cannabis interferes with the pleasure pathways of the brain (bitter experience!!!). In cases other than chemotherapy, and glaucoma, there are better options available. Kissing strippers may well give you herpes simplex: don't kiss him!!

DO NOT START SMOKING POT.
I am a daily user and all it does it make things A HELL OF ALOT WORSE in the long term.
You will only end up MORE stressed, depressed, suicidal, crazy, etc..
POT IS WORSE THAN MANY, MANY PEOPLE THINK.
IT IS ADDICTIVE AND IT IS DAMAGING.
