Why does it feel so good when you're drugged?!

Question: ok im not trying to stir things up, or get those "get help!!" responses.. i just want to know:

when you're drugged (sleeping pills..) to the point where you're 90% numb and have this floating sensation.... I usually like to turn on my favorite music, and for some reason that music sound 1000% better than usual. that i dont understand why!?

are there any doctors or whatever on here tell me why?

Everything always feels best when you no supposed to do it! :-)

Wow, that sounds too much.

Who am I to comment.

I suffer great pain, but i would never take sleeping pills unless recommended by doctor or therapist.

all to do with pleasure receptors being played around with.

It depends on what drug your taking...but they all work by effecting brain chemistry in one way or another.

i am not any kind of medic but it is probably because you feel like youve had some kind of anesthetic only sleeping drugs mess more with your brain especially when taken in such large doses but i am not to judge you it is your life.

Drugs produce the sensation of euphoria (feeling amazing, high, whatever) by releasing ions in the brain. The explanation of this chemical pathway is too complicated for this format. Think of it like this: You're having a party and only the dull people have shown up. Then out of nowhere limos full of movie stars and their entourages of sexy, beautiful, fun people show up and start dancing around (ions). Everyone forgets their troubles, worries and inhibitions and has a good time because they suddenly have somewhere to focus their attention and thus are single-minded. That's what happens in your brain when you take certain types of drugs. The dark side of this is the aftermath of the party, so to speak-- someone (your liver) has to clean up the mess. Also, a fight could break out during the party and the cops might come and take everyone to jail.

thats kind of the point of drugs, would you take drugs that made you feel terrible?

sleeping tablets booze whatever give you an escape from reality.everything seems better.i suffer with agoraphobia and when i have alcohol i would book a holiday.the nxt day i would cancell it.
