Neighbor waking me up every morning?!

Question: I live down the street from a training facility and a large group of men (30-40) run by my house chanting very loudy every day starting two weeks ago. I live in a residential neighborhood. The local code says that nuisance noise is not allowed. My job typically has me working late so I eat a late dinner and get to bed at midnight and don't get up until 7:15 (barely 7 hrs sleep) so I am losing a key hour of sleep almost daily. I called the organization to state a complaint about the early hour and noise, and they were defiant and unapologetic. I told them they did not have a right to impact neighbors in such a way. How would you feel about this and what would you do if it continues?

First thing to do (I have experience) is to phone a few friends. Make sure that outside of their complex some sort of roadworks occur for an obscure reason at the time you have to wake up.

Make it every day (inclusive of weekends) for a two week period. Then let it stop. In the mean time let your contact spread the word that they should conform. Let the works stop for a few weeks and if it occurs again start the process.

Hangovers do not suit loud noise in the morning and then people conform.

I would file a complaint with the police and get my neighbors to do the same.

If it breaks a noise ordinance, file a complaint. Or do something crazy--that sometimes works! ;p

The behaviour of this training facility is outrageous.
What about all the other neighbours and you forming a petition and speak to local councillor or MP.
Or lawyer sueing for stress, exhaustion and mental health problems.
Good luck.

well, you could try letting them know that they are being loud and tell them that you get to bed late and ask them to keep it down. or you could call the police and tell them that you have contacted the facility and they refuse to do anything, its there job to enforce the code.. or maybe if you know an attorney have him send a letter "threatening" to take action if something isnt done. good luck.
