Brother, people in the city could care less about you walking around. Unless you are a fugitive from justice, you are just another slob walking around and taking up room.
All of us are invisible to others, why do you think people dye their hair pink and wear weird clothes? It's so they will be noticed! Even then you have to be very freaky for anyone to even take a second look. Even people walking around with a Big Bird suit on don't rate any notice. Other than to avoid them that is.
If you are talking about actual invisibility, you need help. Only very strange people talk about being literally invisible.

Could you simply close your eyes? I did that as a kid and it worked. No one could see me.
I think that if you dont go out in public, and make a scene... you wont be scene... I happen to be the most ignored person in my town. I once had someone sit on me at lunch when I was in highschool. Basically tend to yourself, dont make eye contact... that would make you smile at someone...
or just close your eyes for a minute and pretend your a ghost... without actually trying to walk threw someone of course.
