Experiences with inpatient/residential eating disorder treatment?!
Question: This time I'm seriously considering inpatient/residential. I just can't get through this myself. I've gone to my lowest weight ever and can't get it up. My doctor has me switching therapists and dieticians, which is going so-so.
Anyway, experiences please!
And some questions...
- are electronics allowed (eg. ipod, laptop)?
- how long was your stay?
- if I go voluntarily, can i check myself out any time?
- do they accept vegetarians?
- do they care for food issues like lactose intolerance?
- is it possible to get a single room (I have severe social anxiety)
And finally...did you find it helpful? did it work? or did you fall back into your ways?

You might want to call different programs and ask them these questions.
I've heard good things about Renfrew in Phily.
A lot of people I know who have gone through inpatient treatment get better IF THEY WANT TO GET BETTER.
Often they have no relapse or perhaps a quick relapse but they have a plan so they recover more quickly.
Best of luck to you!
