Chantix with Celexa?!
Question: Hi! I'm currently taking Celexa for my depression and I just got back from seeing my psychiatrist and he prescribed me Chantix to help me quit smoking. It sounded like a great idea, but I just read all this stuff on the internet that says it makes a lot of people depressed and suicidal. My doctor never mentioned this to me at my session, but he said this was the first time he's ever prescribed it, but he read a lot of really good things about it. I'm wondering if, since I'm already on an antidepressant, this anti-smoking pill will affect me or if the meds I'm on will keep this from happening. Thanks for your time, and happy Easter!

If it were me don't think i would take it then. It seems counter productive with the antidepressant you are taking. Have you tried the patch or the gum?
Quitting smoking so VERY hard and i think it is great that you are taking the first steps - drinking lots a caffinee will help you during this process.
