How do you tell your doctor you think about suicide?!

Question: It's easy to type it, but I don't think I can say it out loud.

Answers: It's easy to type it, but I don't think I can say it out loud.

I can't cope with these bad and deeply negative feelings I'm having. I feel like ending it all the time. Can you please offer help, i'm at the end of my teather

Easy. Tell him that you think about suicide.

write it down and give it to him soon

Just say it, and remember he's heard it before plenty of times. He can send you to the right person to help you.

Look, there's no shame in it. I had to tell my dr I was having suicidal thoughts, and he sent me to a dr who was really able to help me. Your life is worth speaking up for.

Well you better find out how, I am not trying to be an ***, but you truly need some psychiatric help soon to get rid of whatever makes you consider ending your life.

try telling someone in your family or a close friend first

write a list of your concerns and questions before you go & then just hand it to your doc.

straight out.... ur doctor isnt gonna make fun of u... they deal with those kinds of things everyday

Just tell him and he will get all the help you need.

Write a journal entry/letter about it, then show your doctor. You don't have to say anything to start a conversation. After your doctor knows, it'll be easier to answer his/her questions.

Just tell him you've been really depressed.

OR, if you just don't feel like you can say it first - there are a lot of little quizzes that you can take online to determine whether you have depression and you just put a checkmark besides the things you have experienced and they recommend you take that along with you to your doctors visit and show it to him. One of the questions on there I believe is "have you ever thought about suicide or self harm"

if you must write it down on a piece of paper and give it to your doctor
write him/her a note explaining your self
include that you don't have the courage to tell him by talking
and just remember that they are there to help!

Yeah it takes confidence. Just know that it wont become a big deal like you think it will now. Your doc will handle it in a way in which you can still be comfortable. Good luck, and I hope you dont do anything crazy ;)

Simple, Type it as usual, then print and take it to your doctor. I told you it was simple

I guess it would be different for each person. Perhaps you could describe your feelings adjacent to the real question. Maybe the Doc will ask you about it then.

Just start saying the words, and don't worry if you can finish. The doc will help you out.

Tell him you have the worst deppression symptom EVER! and he will probly ask you, then just answer!!, it will work.

First, depending on your age there are so many different ways to bring it up so you don't catch your doctor off guard so he doesn't look at you like your crazy. if you are a teenager-you should bring up questions about depression in teens, and tell him that you show a commercial on tv that says 65% of all teens think of suicide and them tell him you fit into that 65%. if you are older, you should try to start up a conversation with your doctor and then let him know that sometimes you get so burdened with problems that you don't know any way out or around them. and if you are really bold- tell him -so many people this day think about it, and suffer from depression don't let it get discouraging.

it's a hard thing to say out loud so just blurt it out. that's what i did.(no longer suicidal, by the way) good luck and i hope you feel better.

Write it all down on paper and next time you see your doctor, give it to them.

If you cannot say it to him/her, you do not trust that person. Think about someone you really trust, an adult, and tell that person. That makes it much easier - not that it is easy, but it helps.

omg i was in this situation
if you write down on paper and the next time you go in take it
omg if you need somebody to talk to about it

Verry Carefully!
If they/docs think you are in serious danger of hurting yourself, they can admit you on a 72 hr hold
AND YOU DON'T WANT THAT!
See if he can refer you to a GOOD counselor.
Is there someone in your family or a friend that could go with you to the docs,so this way you're not doing it by yourself.
I hope you find someone you trust to help you,
Take Care
and
Good Luck.

If you trust your Dr, explain to him or her how you've been feeling & why. Make sure you tell your Dr that you have just had suicidal thoughts but that you have not made any plans to kill yourself ( unless of course you have), because if they feel you are a threat to yourself or others they can have you involuntarily admitted to a mental health facility for observation. Be honest when you speak to your Dr & say that you think you need therapy & perhaps medication but unless you want to be hopitalized be sure you let them know that you have not been seriously contemplating killing yourself because then they have a legal & moral responsibility to intervene. Good luck to you!!

email him... jk

practice in front of a mirror. You will get used to it saying it in reality and it will be easier later.

I have been thinking about suicide for almost a year now,but I can't tell no one because my parents would flip on me and send me to a mental hospital, and I AM NOT KIDDING!!
