Very self conscious about my weight?!


Question: Recently I am very self conscious about my weight. I would weight myself at least three times a day. I cannot resist of standing on the scale every time I go to washroom. I am overweight and I am trying to loss weight by exercising and eating healthy low calories diet. Is there something wrong with me?

No hon there is absolutely nothing wrong with you...

You say you are exercising and eating healthy so that is a great start.

Weigh yourself once a week and then depending reassess

You might lose a lot of weight to start and then plateau losing very little but that is normal...slow and steady is best...losing too much quickly will most times only result in you gaining the weight back and then some

Continue with your exercise routine and healthy eating and in time you will see results

Everyones self concious but stepping on the scales a lot won't help you at all. The best things to do seriously is keep a balanced diet no cutting meals nothing just eat when you want just make your portions smaller than usual. I'm about 3 stone over weight. I have an anorexic mam that used to tell me off for having a drink of milk as it might put more weight on me. A great thing to do even though you might hate the fact, someone told me this once.. stand in front of the mirror at night when no one else is around, put a lamp on or something and pick of all of your best assets forget about the rest. so what your a little overweight? or you think you are but you have to love yourself before you can begin to change anything at all about your outer appearance.

It is pretty normal to get really into a recent change in your life, like embarking on a weight loss routine. I think you're just excited and are looking forward to watching your efforts pay off. Just don't let it consume you; everyone's weight fluctuates by as much as 5 or more pounds ever day, so you may want to consider only weighing yourself every other day or three days. At the very least, don't worry or get upset if you eat a large meal and the scale says you put on a couple pounds--oftentimes this is just because of the weight of all the indigested food, and isn't an accurate depiction of your real weight.

Keep up the hard work; losing weight is rarely easy but always well worth the effort. As they say, nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels =)

im always getting on the scales.its a habit.your keeping an eye on your weight thats all.the way you are trying to lose weight is the best way and like i say we check our hair teeth and other stuff.why not check out the scales.dont forget you gain water weight during the day so if you want a buzz from your weight loss get on the scales in the morning after a wee.lol
