Question: Ok I know a person who experiences paranoia (Feels that others are laughing at them or talking ab out them). This person also gets mad easily just out of plain stupidity of others. To the point where they can picture themself hurting that other person physically. It seems like they keep a lot of anger built up inside from their childhood.Do you guys have any ideas on what this could be and how to minimize this problem?

My mom has that problem, What can be done?
The first step towards recovery is usually to recognise that there is a problem and to seek help. However, people experiencing paranoia often fail to recognise that they have a problem that can be treated. If this is the case, friends or family may have a role in encouraging the person to seek help. The first point of contact would usually be a GP who may be able to prescribe drug treatment, or refer the person to a psychiatrist or psychologist for more intensive treatment. Paranoia is usually treated with antipsychotic drugs which have a tranquillising effect and aim to reduce paranoid feelings. Other forms of treatment are known as talking treatments; these include counselling, cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and psychotherapy. If a person is very distressed, they may be admitted to hospital for treatment. People are usually encouraged to go to hospital as voluntary patients, but sometimes if someone's behaviour is very disturbed, they can be admitted to hospital against their will under the Mental Health Act 1983.

Definitely should see a therapist. If it's a lot of built up anger, then the only way to conquer it is to talk it out with a professional.

get him consulted to a good psychiatrist.........

Show a lot of love and understanding. Refer this person to a therapist and or self help group.

This person has built up anger, and perhaps feels insecure and maybe this person has a lot of jealousy of the way others and and are happy and they way they dress. This person might not like the way he or she looks, and they might think that they can't be happy. Its a problem this person needs to work on. Perhaps you could give this person encouragement and tell themt that people are not laughing at him/her, but they are laughing at what something is said. Subtelty help the person see that they don't have a reason to become angry. aslo maybe suggest that your friend goes and sees a therapist. That way they can talk about their feelings and they will get help to see where all the anger is coming from.

this character sounds screwed up in the head. get some help ASAP buddy!
