Is there anything wrong with living as a recluse in your home?!

Question: Not at all. I find being at home is very relaxing. I do my own thing just like you. The outside world is a great place but it is hectic. I used to go out and party a lot, socialize but it got old, started to get a bit out of hand, and I have trust issues. Now I find that while I do still see friends every so often, when I'm not at work I chill at home, if I need to go out I am happy to go, although I prefer doing so alone. Peace and quiet, I do what I want, when I want. So to answer your question, no, as long as you are comfortable and happy it's quite alright.

Some people say so yes. It is probably bad for you (mentally) in a variety of ways.

Yes. It's generally seen as a sign of mental illness.
Either from fear of the outdoors, or people, or paranoia.
Most people don't seclude themselves from other people and the world.
However, if you're happy alone, and can somehow make a living; then do whatever makes you happy.

No,

Howard Hughes did it..

I think that all depends on whether or not you're a recluse completely by choice, (for example, you just can't be bothered with the outside world because most people annoy you or just get on your nerves so you can't be bothered with them) or you are scared or nervous to leave your home. If you feel you can't leave your home, then you definately need some sort of help, probably professional help. However, if you're just happy being at home, but can leave any time if need be, then you're fine. Only you know how you truly feel deep down inside. If you feel there is a problem, then get the help you need and deserve.
