I have dealt with the same thing for years now.

I got on meds after seeing different doctors and mental health professionals. A light box was suggested but after testing they concluded that my depression was more severe than just a little bit fixed with a light box.

I also tried St. John's wort...but it did little for my depression. Omega 3 fatty acids and lipisides help a little bit for many things, true. but they are used in conjunction with diet, (eating right), and exercise.

About excercise: try riding a bike, or going for short walks, slowly increasing the distance that you go. You will know if you are overdoing it...And don't worry if you get a little sore. It is just your body's way of healing muscles that you have not used in a while.

Give yourself a treat and soak in a bath with Epsom salts and baking soda. The baking soda helps to draw out the impurities in your body and the Epsom salts help to relieve muscle aches and pains.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

first try getting some walks in the early morning so you get 20 minutes of serotonin. you can also try st. johns wort, i have heard good things about that, if that does not help you will have to make a decision if you want to see some one about itl. you might just need to talk to some one and not need any meds. also mega 3 viatamins help. it is hard just try to get that walk in and take it from there you do not want this thing to get a handle on you and take over, you take charge first

It sounds like SAD.
talk to the doctor. they most likely won't give you meds, more likely than not reccomend something called a "light box".

what you are describing is not healthy at all. I was trying to deal with almost the same thing all winter, anyway turns out i had some other medical problems that were messing with my hormones. When i got on meds i felt so much better, and since i put it off so long i might have to have surgery now. I hate the doctor and avoid it at all costs but if i hadn't gone, i would have a serious problem. Please at least get checked out before you take the holistic route.

you need to seek help perfessionally you may not need medicine but you might just need to talk with some one who can help you asap. talk to a doctor asap.

that sounds like a very quick weight loss in a short time- I think it is suggested that you see a doctor to help you get on the right meds to stablize your depression.
