Bipolar maybe?!

Question: my therapist says I have anxiety and depression, but she never listened to anything I told her so I quit going. my mood is severely influenced by the weather and changes in seasons and weather. last night I went to bed and my brain wouldn't shut off, I kept getting really good ideas and only ended up sleeping for like 2 hours. today I am exhausted but still don't feel like I can sleep or even need to. my brain was working more quickly today than usual, I felt comfortable around people and like I was back to my normal self for the first time in 6 months...could it be that I'm bipolar and that my brain just works slower than others so that when I get mania it just speeds my brain up to where it should be at and it just doesn't look like I'm manic because of this? I'm 27 and I've also been taking .25mg of xanax a day but have been weaning myself off it by breaking it into chunks and taking smaller doses every other day and I completely stopped taking it 3 days ago.

You are definitely having ups and downs. However, to be classed as bipolar those highs have to last for weeks. So if your finding that your going weeks to months of no sleep and lots of energy only to then switch as little as 24 hours to depressed for extended periods minium 2 weeks then YES you may have bipolar.
Good luck finding a therapist that will listen. It quite common to try a few therapist until finding one that suits you.

Maybe YOU never listened to anything she told YOU? so u quit going?

try a new therapist.

manic/depressive def...
hmmm try lots of b vitamins
that worked for me

You probably are bi-polar by your symptoms. Call a doctor for help. Bi-polar is causing you to have grandiose ideas, that's what you are experiencing. I am NOT a doctor but am familiar with with the illness. You will be fine and probably be put on mood stabilizers which will more than likely give you a normal life. They really help.

Call and make an appointment tomorrow.

Good luck and God bless.

doesnt sound like bipolar to me. just because your mind was racing doesnt make you manic. i would try a new therapist. maybe you put up a barrier with the other one? if you dont go see a therapist then try and get diagnosed by a psychiatrist.
