Stress help?!

Question: I get stressed out a lot. And I don't know how to handle it. A lot of things are bothering me right now so I just kind of randomly get in a bad mood and start crying from all the stress. Lately I just haven't been myself and people are telling me that they're like getting annoyed with me and that's making it worse.

How do I handle stress without getting in a bad mood?

And every problem that is going on right now is like out of my control and I can't do anything about them, so I have no idea how to handle anything.

HELP.

Stress is a normal part of life. We all have to learn, eventually, that a lot of things are out of our control. Without that control, we might feel that we are out of balance, but we have to accept that the only thing we can control is ourselves.
Accepting that you can't control anything but you is one step toward lessening your stress, and a valuable one. But I bet you want something more to help you while you deal with all these problems? There are a lot of methods of releasing stress. One of the most effective (and it has lots of benefits other than stress relief) is exercise. Anything to get your heart pumping and your mind off your problems. Yoga is also a great calming exercise that is not so hard on your body if you are new to exercise. Just start out slow with something (jogging, weight-lifting, yoga, boxing, martial arts, riding a bike, etc) and stay with it. Believe me when I say that you can lose all that tension in your muscles AND lift your spirits. Remember, this isn't about losing weight or getting in shape, it is about having a healthy outlook and exercise provides! If you aren't up to starting an exercise routine (although it is the best method that I have found for releasing built up stress), try something simple. Do you like to paint, sing, play the guitar, write stories or poems, anything creative? A creative outlet allows you to step away from your problems and even to work some of them out in a non-hostile way. Write a poem about how you feel. Paint something that is important to you, anything you can do to let those feelings out in a constructive way. If you don't know what you are good at, or don't have a lot of interests in those areas, explore them and find out what helps you the most. Try taking an art class or photography class. Get some paper and just write a journal. Even if you don't feel that you have talent, you can let your feelings out this way and no one ever has to see it.
A basic part of yoga is learning how to concentrate your thoughts. Start like this: sit on the floor or bed or couch in a softly lit room. Quiet is good, but soft music that you enjoy would be appropriate if you like or need some outside noise reduction. Sit in a comfortable position and just practice letting all thoughts and feelings go. Make your mind blank. Think about your breathing, make every breath slow and calm. Keep your mind blank. If you can do this well, you could move on to stretching or contracting muscles and breathing while keeping your mind blank. It's about concentrating on your body and being able to control your mind.
Finally, if you want something absolutely guaranteed to work and with quick results. Kneel on the floor in a quiet place. Bow your head, close your eyes, fold your arms, and PRAY. Works wonders.

Rhodiola. Don't drink cofee at all for a while.
Think about something aritistic or philosofic.
I try to think of the advanced Borg collective (what a beautifull concept) when I'm stressed, for example.

Hello - I deal with a lot of stress and Anxiety personally so I'll try and help here.

For me a few things have always helped. When it gets bad writing down a list of everything thats bugging me and then sorting what I control and what I can do about it helps. There's no point in getting upset over what you control - though I know its definitely NOT that easy.

Find something that you can do to calm yourself. Reading, taking a walk, watching a second hand - something that you can do to calm yourself at any time.

Externalization is another technique you can use. Imagine the stress and bad mood as something like a bug and that they aren't part of you. They don't control you.

Lastly something I was told long ago by someone I trust. Thoughts, Feelings and Behaviour are all related. One feeds the other and cutting one cuts the other. Smile, think of something cheerful can stop everything before it escalates.

Turn your burden over to the Lord and He will give you peace. Works every time for me. Start praising His Name Jesus and the stress will leave. Christ tells us not to worry for anything.

Perfect love (Jesus) casts out fear, because fear has torment. Stress is fear, fear of what people will say or do, fear of not doing the right thing, fear of not getting enough done, fear of not knowing what to do, etc.

Jesus said, many times - DO NOT FEAR. Turn all of your problems over to Jesus. If you don't know Jesus, it is time to know Him.
