What is a great medication for bi-polar disorder?!
Question: Long ago and far away, the only answer was Lithium...now they have added depakote, risperdol, tegratol, neurontin, abilify....to name a few. Doctors are great when it comes to figuring out which one is for you! kjl

Medication or meditation. I use meditation. I recommend that people try it before using drugs unless they need the drugs to stabalise themselves first.

lexapro it works amazingly for bi-polar disorder, depression ect...
i take Abilify. it is costly but very effective.
Unfortunately thats like asking what colour hair people should have - there are many options and different drugs are better for different people - Im about to start on a different kind - have tried Tegratol but I felt numb most of the time - not happy - not sad - not even - just numb -- nothing kind of feeling and with the occasional nausea I didnt like it - Im soon going to try Valpro but my psychiatrist tells me there are a number of options and its just a matter of trial and error - keep trying new things until you find one that works for you.
