Sleeping and alzheimer's?!


Question: Does alzheimer's ever cause a lot of sleeping? Does anyone know the approximate amount of time somebody with alzheimer's sleeps? Is sleeping for 16-18 hours a day normal?

having the misfortunes of Alzheimers, has many drawbacks, im sorry to say, but sleepiness is one of them, i dont know the age of the person you are refering to, but i would say thats about average, between 16 to 18 hours approx. remembering that the brain cannot respond to motor conditions as that of a perfectly fit being, when Alzheimers is concerned.Its one of the hells on earth,

my grandma has it..her sleeping habits have not changed at all. She has had alzheimer's for about 10 years. She is on Exelon, and it really helps her memory
