Calming social anxiety?!


Question: I do have an anxiety disorder (OCD) but I also have an immense fear and anxiety about going to gym class, which is actually tomorrow.

What are some calming methods I can try to calm my anxiety?

When I start to feel anxious about something I try to ask myself why I feel that way about it and then think about ways to work around the problem.
Wearing lots of clothing helps because it makes you feel protected.
And just keep telling yourself that nothing bad can happen.

i get like dat alot dats y i dont get girlfriends much cuz im to shy to ask them out so i jus dont talk to much people unless dey talk to me

Deeps, calming, relaxing breaths. I find that my social anxiety has lowered a lot since I've stopped having caffeine (tea, coffee, chocolate, etc) and sugar. That is one thing to think about changing in your lifestyle to help you. It probably won't help too much for tomorrow though. Good luck!

I also have social anxiety, and a huge anxiety about gym class. I have an IEP at school, and talked to the guidence department and principal and I got exempt from gym class. You could try doing that.
