How can I stop obsessing over this celebrity?!

Question: I am currently obsessed with a particular celebrity. He is not really that famous (a minor comedy star here in the UK) and he is kind of old and ugly but that only makes me like him more. He has had a bit of a tragic life really and in interviews he comes across as really unhappy and lonely.
I watch his videos a lot and day dream about him. I do feel that if I had the chance I could make him happy but of course I don't really know him so it's all just a fantasy but I can't stop thinking of him I just feel very drawn to him.I've never had anything like this before I don't normally even fancy celebrities. I'm not crazy or a stalker, I know that it will never happen and I'm old enough to know better but I just can't shake this obsession.

What can I do to stop thinking of him?

P.S. I guess I am going through some very difficult stuff at the moment my Mum is really ill and so I think this is why I need the escapism.

I think that if you just keep your feet on the ground, the obsession will eventually die out. Seems like you know the reason (escapism), so you simply have to bear it in mind. It may be hard if you relate to him (as in interviews he seems unhappy and you are feeling unhappy over your mother being ill). I don't think writing to him will help because like that you are giving it a future, a hope.
One trick is to try and get yourself busy with something whenever you think of him, like solve sudoku or crosswords, call someone, make a cake, etc... but not push it too much. As long as you think of it as a period, it will probably be only a period. After all, it's ok to have some kind of wonderwall as long as you don't let it take over your life and sanity.
Good luck with overcoming it.

Try to write him, Hmm, Im sure every one goes through that phase of a celebrity "crush" if you will. It will pass. Not to be werid, but maybe masterbate to him, Have that fantasy try to create it and maybe it will pass. Cause you said you could please him....
