Can you vegetable juice fast if you're bipolar and on Lithium?!

Question: It's best to ask your doctor. Personally, I would not. A fast is hard on the liver, and medication also hits are on the liver. Lithium may also become less effective on a juice fast. Again, ask your doctor. Maybe you can, and s/he can warn you of possible side effects.

  • NO! lithium is a VERY strong anti-depressant/ mood stabilizer. it is not recommended that you deprive your system of nesscessary nutrients that are only found in solid food. Lithium was probably prescribed to you based on your natural diet. Food is one of the 3 main inducers of natural happiness. Lithium is one of the many man made ones that are used when the natural inducers don't function to the desired limit. Don't Do It!!!!!!!!!!!!!
