You bet they are. Most relationships are founded on trust and respect. How can you trust and respect someone who is lying all the time? You can't.

We new a guy who professed to hold many positions of honor and near fearlessness that we decided to write them down. We had three type written pages and his repertoire spanned a life time from before he was born and all over the world...

No body wanted to be near him...He's gone and were all still around or moved on to better jobs while he's out in the streets.

I would suggest you recommend in the kindest but firm way for your friend to get help...

Bet you my pay check they will Deny all...for it is the strongest medicine in the world...to avoid responsibility and accountability for their actions and, to have the faith and trust to embrace the anxieties they feel when they deal with the changes...

Probably. She sounds like a compulsive liar. And if she is lying about big things you can bet she is lying about small things as well, they are just not as important.

Some people cannot help but lie even when they are not punished by doing so. Maybe she is trying to gain affection and sympath from others.

yes it is harmfull. she may be insecure or just trying to get attention

I'd say she really needs some professional help--and I wouldn't be calling her my friend if I couldn't trust her, and how can you trust a person who lies, and then believes their own lies? No thanks, not me. I have enough problem with people who tell lies, know they're lying, and just don't care!!!

she could be trying to believe her own lies so that it's more convincing for others when they see how genuine she is.

she needs serious help. tell someone you trust.
