Getting a beating aka whoopings?!
Question: okay where I come from your kids get's beating's. there called whooping's. i got SO MANY OF THEM. but hey who here thinks it is okay for there parent's to do this or not do this. i mean i think it's wrong . it changes your kids mentally and phisically. i have been BEATIN. but my mom still love's me. i haven't got one since wooooooo a long time and im 15 yrs old. what do you think about it

Ok, I come from a home that when my mother gave ME ( I was the ONLY one) whoopings it was not just a spanking on the bottom. I was REALLY BEATEN!! I am now almost 50yrs. and I still have a problem with how parents think that this is a Whooping!! The proper way to punish a child if you are going to spank them is just that SPANK, NOT WHOOP them. Just use the bare, open, empty hand on the back-side of a child & then you only have to spank them only 1-2 times & then sit down with the child & explain to them the reason that you did it. Also let the child know that you DID NOT enjoy doing it & that it hurt you just as much as it did them to do it!! M mother would use just what ever she could get her hands on to Whoop me. A 3in. high heel shoe, a broom, a garben hoe, a 3in. rack handle that she broke while hitting me with it. This are just some of the things that she used on me. That is why I DO NOT approve of WHOOPING a child. I do think that some times NOT alway's that a child does need to be spanked though. Like the Bible says: "SPARE THE ROD SPOIL THE CHILD!!!" i think a lil spank is ok..but im totally against hitting,belts ,rulers etc
Having being beaten myself, I think it's soo wrong beyond belief. I mean, I understand maybe a spanking on the butt or like a light slap on the hand, but that's about it. I agree with you completely that it changes kids mentally. And for anyone here who thinks it's okay, I'd really like to understand how you could possibly think that.
I don't think any one should ever been beaten. I call them spanking. That means I spank their butt with my bare hand, or I swat their hand and say no no. It doesn't really hurt them physically, I mean it doesn't leave scars etc. I look back to when I was a child and I think about what most made me mind and it was the fact that if I did not than I would get a spanking. As a teenager it became a belt on my butt. It never hurt me or caused any lasting problems. I think if more parents spanked that butt than the kids would not be showing theirs so much.
I THINK 'all' kids should be taught 'right from wrong' or RESPECT. If that's what it takes..........SO BE IT!
