What's the best anti-depressant medication?!

Question: And what's the cost for someone without insurance?

Excersize. It's free. In a 12-week study between regular excersize and Zoloft they had equal results. After 10 months, EXCERSIZE BLEW ZOLOFT OUT OF THE WATER! Care for your body and your brain, and you won't need medication. I took Zoloft for three months. I will NEVER take prescription anti-depressants again. Doctors are useless drug pushers in this category, they have no idea what is causing your depression and all they do is throw drugs at you. Give yourself a chance to turn around. Good luck!

EDIT: Hey Nanny, I have also taken St. John's Wort when struggling with my depression and that works great too! I also like Omega 3 supplements. Nothing helped me more than getting OUTSIDE in the SUNSHINE and EXCERSIZING, though.

non get counselling - its free .. much more effective

Cytalophram... costs $4 for a month's supply.

Most effective antidepressants tend to be MAOI's like Nardil, Parnate and Marplan. They are reserved for last in treating depression and very few people in the world are prescribed them because they have dietary restrictions that if you break could have fatal effects. You can't eat some meat, most cheese, most alcohol, lots of beans, etc.

Saint John's Wort is herbal so it would be cheap and helps with depression. People who tell you none obviously don't or haven't ever had depression.

Tension Tamer herb tea
St Johns Wort herb pill
Ginkgo biloba either tea or herb pill

Go to a natural food store to get these
Get good quality of these herbs and watch for any noted old dates on the boxes older than 6 months kind of look around the shelf.

Take all with the above with a slight bit of food cookie will be okay
These are the same as the tree of life some speak of When used in combination

There is no general "best" medication. Medication that some people may rave about could be toxic for others. Only your doctor can determine what will be the "best" for you, whether it's a kind of medicine or any medicine at all.
