Am sleepy, but just can't sleep?!

Question: Often I've read this small short sentence and here I am...

I know it is stress, I know I worry too much and drank just about that much coffee earlier today... and here I am, and asking have you ever been sleepy, but just can't sleep?

Aaaall the time

I am right now, so yes.

ok, no smoking atleast an hour before bed time. No coffee (preferably at all) try a herbal tea or remedy drops, like flower extracts. If these don't help, ask ya doc for some mild calmers to help you nod off :)
good luck

don't sleep in either. Try and get up about 6-7am in the morning and have an active day tomorrow. That will probably ensure a nice sleep tomorrow night.

yes i have.

it absoultley SUCKKKS.

It's stress.... I'm in bed and typing this. Just lay in you bed and relax, that would reduce the stress. It's better than nothing.

If you're stressing, I suggest having a good cry. Know you're a boy, but still. -shrug- Works.

Other than that, I find just getting off the computer and shutting off the television works. Try reading a book in bed till you're too tired to keep going.

Relax natural way. see http://relax-naturally.blogspot.com/

I would say 'yes'. There have been time when this has happened, but in my case I know why, and for me it's not from coffee. It was simply that there are excited thoughts running round keeping me awake. If you think this may be the cause then I strongly recommed meditation. In particular an aspect of meditation that I use is very helpful and quick. And that is to breathe in slowly, through your teeth, hold the breath in (if that's comfortable) for 3 secs then breath out fully and hold the breath for 3 secs before taking in the next breath. Next breath in hold it in for 5 secs, breath out, hold for 5. You can go to 7 secs or 10 (if that's comfortable) I assure you if you can seriously do even just this breathing excercise your mind will be calm, free from distracting thoughts and ready to sleep. It's worth a try. Works for me~Rrick is to do this and be comfortable about the way you do it.

Sure. Plenty of times. Life is very unsettling these days. It is not surprising that a lot of people are up at all hours. After all we don't have the sense of faith or belief as our grandparents had. The world is a crazy place these days. because of the information age we tend to be more skeptical about faith, and know alot of more than what goes on. We have Presidential candidates lie to us, nothing new, but then other officials insult our intelligence whether they are the President or a Mayor.
Lie on the Stand, something unthought of years ago, and rather than admit lying. keep acting as nothing happened. We wouldn't accept that from a two year old, but we accept this from adults? So the stress of society trickles down to us and we can't sleep. All these things tie into each other. we kid ourselves when we believe they don't.
You could medicate yourself, but when I can't sleep. I pray hold my crucifix I wear and ask Lord Jesus or God for Pleasant thoughts and dreams. I drift off, Dream of Heaven, and wake up in a better mood. I don't do it every night, but somehow I go to sleep and my troubles are left on the Cross. Doesn't mean that are totally gone, but for that night they leave me alone. So try that next time you are totally worn out but can't sleep. Won't wake up a zombie because of a hangover or medication.
