What happens to a bi polar person..?!

Question: who is 24 yrs. old, has epilepsy living with his mom in which they do not get along at all, and thinks that he sees GOD's face on the moon?

This is not a joke, this is someone very close to me, in the Detroit area, is there a place for him, where he can be supervised and have the proper care he needs, besides a mental institution, bc he is not violent, but just needs to get on his own some kind of way.

Is there a place, that can accomodate him?

something bad unless they go to a therapist and fast..the faster they go the better!

He should see a doctor, or psychologist immediately.

He needs to see a doctor. The doctor can prescribe him medication to control his manic or depressive episodes. If his manic or depressive episodes are controlled with medication then he will be able to take care of himself, without the need to be in a hospital or a mental institution. In addition he may need to go through some therapy as well.

I live in the detroit area also, check out some of these places on the link, they might be of some help. Unfortunately, our governor did away with a lot of the mental health programs in michigan that were state funded......it might help if his mom goes to some counseling with him too. Good luck

There are usually adult foster care homes that will take people with mental health issues. They tend to be small homes with 5 or 6 adults living there.
