If you work for an employer they have to give you sick leave. You will be given a sick note from your dr to fill in and give to your employer who then claims it from the state. If you are paid cash in hand sorta thing then go to the job centre with your sick note and they will ensure that you claim statuatory sick pay i beleive...x

I'm not in Scotland, I'm in Australia, but if that is true your partner is not helping you, no wonder you got deppression.
Ever thought of looking for another job. Don't quit the one you doing till you find something better. While you work, you have better chance to apply for other jobs as they know you willing to work and you are proving it by staying employed till you find better.

Another job and another life.......................
