Sounds like your depression is also coupled with anxiety. I had a similar situation after a serious surgery. I stopped sleeping completely, and my mind was always racing. I know it's awful, but many medications do work. My advice would be to try one of the more calming medications, such as Zoloft. Ask your doctor for a recommentation, but that one worked well for me. And definitely couple it with counseling -- someone who can teach you to also calm yourself and gain control of your thoughts. Don't lose heart -- you will sleep again.

see your doctor.. he is the one who can help.

take care

effexor xr is what i use. it really works. but go to your doc to see what he can give u

Hi. There are many types of medication which can help. But you have to consult a doctor first, who will have to make a proper diagnosis first. He will decide if you need medication and what type.

what i would like to know is why you're asking random strangers on yahoo answers what anti-depressants you should take.

maybe you're not really depressed.
maybe you're just stupid.

It sounds like you might have Bipolar I or Bipolar II disorder. Please see a doctor because the medications you would need to take may require careful monitoring of blood levels so that you don't become toxic.

Typical medications are Lithium and Depakote. Of the two, Lithium is better at preventing depression, but it's also the more toxic one and an overdose can cause serious permanent brain damage. Only in collaboration with your doctor can you determine what would be the best medication, comparing the benefits and risks of each. Sometimes combinations of medications are used. No matter what you take, make sure that you are absolutely following the dosing instructions or you could get into big trouble by taking too little or too much.

Good luck and I'm sure that medications can help you.

you should consider having green tea every once and a while
its calming and soothing and will lighten up your day

if you'er a smoker smoke less and remmember
hot shower helps to sleep

or go to a doctor , a psychiatrist if you can afford it, and if you can't or don't have insurance go to a college or university and a lot of times you can get reduced rates depending on your income. The only reason I mentioned that is because you seem desperate and most people would know to go to a doctor for meds to relieve these problems. You can also try melatonin, or St. John's Wort. Also, Dramamine helps me sleep as well as ambien!

scotch and a shot gun
