Do you think im bipolar?!

Question: i know im only 13, but in the past few months i've had some serious downslides. like just so randomly i get really sad and start bawling...but in the past day or so i've been fine, it's only happens a couple times a week, and i don't know if that's a lot, or not enough. i know it could just possibly be the age im at right now, or what, but it's totally not normal for me! anyone who would know, or has it, please answer and tell me i don't!

No, ho ney, you don't. I felt the same way at 13, and I'm becoming 16 soon. ^^ I remember 13. Almost too perfectly well too. It was probably one of the worst years in my life that I'd have to go through. I would've moved to a new country for the first time two years before that, and I felt really homesick. But a new environment, new tradition, new food, new people, as well as the language barrier - were not the only factors that effected me. It was also growing up, getting used to getting pimples, and being criticized for the first time because I was foreign, different.

Hang in there, I'm more than sure that your hormones are playing mind tricks on you. It can with anyone, anytime. Just be yourself and try to make the best out of your time, it's really, really not your fault. People that are smart enough to recognize these things will know. ~~

P.S. If you would go to a psychiatrist however , do not agree to medication. Especially many, for a long period of time - you can get dependent on them. Like you would with smoking... with drinking... with sleeping pills... with cocaine, etc. In fact, I would recommend you go to a psychologist/psychiatrist to be on the safe side. It's not a bad thing, don't worry. It doesn't mean anything, you're just there to get cured, like going shopping... you go to get a fresh supply. Many kids make a big deal about going to certain places, doing certain things. But really, they just need some reassurance. There's nothing wrong with going to places like those. It's like when you're a little kid and you wouldn't walk into the dark, lol. :))

P.S.S. Hey, least you got these strangers that would truly care for you, right? Sometimes the best comfort lies in a stranger, lol. Someone you don't know, something you don't know, even. I'm getting off topic. But still be caaareful overall! Heheh. Gl. :)

Oh. I don't really know this but I'm assuming you're a girl too. It's a fact that women are four times more prone to getting depression than men. Lol we sisters have to stick with each other. ~~

I don't think you are. Being a teenager is all about having random moods wings that you don't understand.

i get like that to! i think its just being depressed because i know when your bipolar you get really mad and just flip out easy. it might just be the age your at to. being a teenager is stressful
i hate it

Don't sweat it kiddo, you're just going through a temporary chemical imbalance due to your stage in life right now--puberty.

completely honest: same thing would happen to me, im 17 and i was wondering the same thing, thanks for asking the question
but i dont think its bipolarity, cause bipolar has some serious side effects i think (besides the mood swings)
maybe its puberty...

That's probably puberty. I was really mood swingy when I went
through it. Also If you had something major happen to you latly that could effect your mood. IE parents seporated

You need to speak to your parents about it. Mood swings can be caused by many, many different things. You really need to see a doctor right away. This is not the place for a question like that. No one here really knows you (personally) so it cant be really judged by a simple question. Please speak to your parents or another adult.

nope

depression is part of bipolar disorder...yes..
but you have to have more to that than just depression.

some ignorant people think that teens don't have problems
and it's just hormones. well, 60% of the time it's not hormones.

tell your parents that you need some help
because this is really eatin at you.

but you're definitely not bipolar.
like i said...it'd be a lot worse than just depression.

you just have depression issues.

tell your parents soon.

Sounds like you have depression, bipolar has ALOT of different symptoms.

too early to tell. Teenagers tend to have mood swing so just enjoy life and not worry about such things.
its all in the overactive hormones !
wait till you older then go see a doctor to be sure ?

hmm,, if you were bi-polar, by the end of the time you had typed ur question you would have either achieved something positive or u would have blown ur lid n taken it out at someone. .
so basically, u aint bi-polar. .
in this syndrome, u wake up feeling enthused n active, wanting to do a lot of things n ideas into work but at the end of the day u'll be down in the dumps. .

unlike what u said, its not a weekly or monthly thing . its a routine daily one. .

so u chill n enjoy ur teenage . .
also, as far as possible try to hang out with positive group of friends. . will definitely help u oin the long run ! !

You dont know whats normal for you because you are going through so many changes right now that you dont have a point of reference - trust me.

It doesn't sound like bi-polar, but depression - which is, I hate to say, usually the result of being 13 - lets face it - until about 18 life is difficult - then it starts to get better - but the way up hill is kinda slow.

I have to agree with Miss mom. You would know without a doubt if you had bi-polar. It is serious. Right now I say it is puberty. I went through the same thing. But meh. It happens to everyone lol. Even to this day I get it at times but thats because I have anxiety and panic attacks. I am 16. I still need to grow up. So just have fun, Nothing to worry about here.
