Anxiety issue. Help?!?!


Question: Everytime I'm going somewhere somewhat far from home I feel so anxious. I get jittery, nervous, and sometimes I cant sleep and this weird feeling. And I don't even knoew why I feel like this! Terrible anxiety... Sometimes, it gets to me so much I have to cancel plans... This isn't normal, is it? D:

We humans are basically very primitive creatures who live in an incredibly complex world.

Your anxiety, if not treated, will continue to grow and get worse. WHY you are anxious is a journey you will have to go on yourself, with the help of a THERAPIST. In therapy, you will identify the problem and work out a solution. The therapist will help you. It will take a while and will require patience.

You are "normal"! Humans get all kinds of things they need help with. Find a therapist you like and take this journey. You will benefit from it.

No, it's not normal to that extent. You have some form of anxiety disorder (social or something). You probably need some cognitive therapy. Look into it.

I started having anxiety at 39 years old. Never before experienced it.

I didn't want to take daily meds since it was like you say, only at certain times. My doctor gave me atavan in the lowest dose. I cut those in half and take only as needed. It works like a charm for me. I probably take a half pill three times per month. When I fly, though, I take a whole one - that's the only way I even feel as though I've taken anything, which I don't like.

why don't you start breathing exercises for you problem. it should help

There are thousands of people feel like this. You have your comfort zone, no one knows why they feel like you do. Perhaps you are happy to avoid travel and you should simply avoid travel. You are quite normal, however if it is creating problems and you want to go beyond your comfort zone, talk to a doctor who will arrange for you to see a councillor.

i know how you feel i had it after my daughter was born and still have it sometimes i manage it by telling myself its not real its in my head and its helped me alot

i used to be the esame way until recently. i have been put on meds and still struggle. i didnt think think this illness excisted until i got it. you need to learn coping skills for this in which i did. write back if you need me to help

if it happens every time it's not normal cause every body get anxious about serious stuffs but not every thing out of home,i think the reason is that you make big deal out of everything.for instance when you want to go to the party you always thinking about the way you dress,way you talk,way you move,.... like a very serious stuff that you forget the fun part and you get anxious.you response to thing the way you define them in your mind.if you get anxious it's because you define things huge and scary in your mind.all you need to do is to rethink of stuffs that makes you anxious and realize how they're fine and not scary.try relaxation too,it'll help you a lot if you do it right.if you don't know how to do it there's plenty of books about it and how to do the proper relaxation.and don't smoke anything or don't do any drugs like what GUTTA said,this things gonna make your problem worse and at last make you a scum.good luck;)
