Bipolar or Split personality?!

Question: Someone I know has a huge anger problem. He has broken a remote, a laptop, a chair, another remote, and steals things. One minute he'll be screaming and cursing, and the next minute he'll be saying something sweet, or someone's name to himself in a squeaky voice. (Like when people talk to babies or puppies.) He always talks to himself. Does he have some problem like Bipolar disorder, or something?

It sounds like the person may, at the very least, be suffering from a personality disorder. Explosive outbursts can be indicative of mania, but the symptoms you describe sound more like an Axis II diagnosis of a personality disorder.
For the record, "split personality" dual identity disorder, or multiple personality is generally not considered as a valid diagnosis in the field.

That sounds like a personality disorder, not bipolar.

no....that's not BP. it's probably a split personality.
or other personality disorders.

if he was BP...he'd have a lot more mood swings and he wouldn't be snapping back that fast. i have severe mania,
i don't talk to myself....i mean, i do when i try to rehearse
a speech or to remember something...but i don't have
conversations with myself....

maybe schizophrenia or split personality.
