Loosing weight on SSRI antidepressents? (paxil)?!
Question: I am on paxil for severe anxiety, I have experienced alot of side effects in only the 10 days I have been on it. 1 of which is loosing 4lbs. I only weigh 135lbs to begin with and am a skinny male so this is not wanted weight loss. I have almost never dropped below 135lbs since 10th grade. Should I call it quits?

I would discuss this concern with your psychiatrist.
Some people react differently to each medication. I have a friend who gained 30 lbs on Paxil.
Are you experiencing any other side effects (fatigue, libido etc)? And talk to your dr.
For me getting the right combination of psychiatric medications was a process. You are the patient and have choices.
Also address the anxiety overall with wellness. Not just meds.
Physically-exercise, self-care, stress mgmt, relaxation strategies etc
Emotional/Social support
Spirituality or Not
Social/leisure etc.

Talk to the physician who prescribed it - there are many other anti-depressants you can try that might not affect you the same way.
