I am soooo depressed. What should I do?!

Question: There are lot of options, depending on how depressed you are, how long it's been going on, and how much willpower you have to help yourself. Also, if your depression is founded on real problems in your life, such as a traumatic experience, or if your life is just the same and you're becoming depressed anyway.
Counseling is always a good option - just talking to an objective third party about your problems and feelings helps a lot.
Any doctor, including a family physician, can prescribe anti-depressants, but if you want to go that route, I would recommend going to a psychiatrist, who will more closely monitor your progress and help you develop skills that will eventually let you get off the pills.
If you want to do things yourself, try reading a few books like "Man's Search for Meaning" or even those Chicken Soup books. Try talking to close friends about your feelings - sometimes just verbalizing things helps you resolve issues. Same goes for writing in a journal. Try not to ruminate on negative things too much - remember to be positive and look for good things in your life. Also, don't worry about things you can't control.

Good luck! I went through major depression and lots of medication and I'm fine now. It is possible.

Hang out with friends that make you feel better :)

y are u depresed in the first place? u gotta know whats wrong to fix it.

hey, there are a few options for you to try. Anti depressents i would imagine would be the first port of call. I would try not to be on these for a long time as they can make you feel like "nothing" and quite empty. If it was me I would use this to elleviate the feelings of depresion at the same time as other methods of reducing the feelings that come along with depression. Try going to counselling or making an appointment to see a psychiatrist. Maybe you are like me and have extreme reactions to things, even things like noticing that your name wasnt on a family members phone list! I am on the waiting list to try CBT.

Try exercise aswell as this released the happy hormones. like walking or swimming.

Welldone for admitting you have a problem, thats the biggest step and now you are willing to try something. I wish you all the best.

call up some friends and hit the mall. Go to a party, bake a pie, dance to a song, do something or/and talk to someone. Don't kill your joy.(If you are seriously depressed, call a shrink). Either way don't just sit there!

music & friends.

See a psychiatrist, or psychologist.
If you feel suicidal, go directly to the E.R.
Since, it will most likely be a day or two, befire you see a health professional.,
Please, please, please talk to your family, a friend SOMEONE !!!
