What the hell is my problem?!?!

Question: What the hell is my problem?

Okay. I have some kinda...issues or something.

I just got a new job and don't get paid until Friday, so my mom gives me $100 to spend on lunch, gas, whatever. So...I have the money now, yet I haven't spent it!

BUT whenever I DON'T have freaking money, like say...just $20 to my name, I end up blowing it on something instead of trying to save it, or use it wisely.

ALSO - she would buy groceries...and there would be enough food for a month, but I'd be so scared to eat it, and end up eating it all, that I would only eat a little, SO little to the point where the damn food would just go bad cause I didn't touch it. But when there's like...A LITTLE food, I end up eating it all in an untimly manner.

WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH ME?!?!? =(

Hello,

It is a good idea to write things down. It will help you manage money or possession when you think you have little control of them.

For example, you can chart how much money you generally spend on food, gas, or other daily things. Then get yourself a 'tip jar' for whatever money left so you won't spend it away for no good reason.

As for groceries, try to 'menu up' for yourself -- in other words, you could try to break down on the groceries, write down and decide what to eat today, tomorrow, etc, so that you won't feel like you have to eat them all at once or not eat them at all and they will go bad. Milk, eggs, orange juice, and those kinds of stuff go bad quickly so you may need portion them wisely for your daily meal.

I would say your problem is temporary. Once you get the hang of your job and daily routine, you will be able to manage your money, food, and time better. It takes time, so be patient. And it is also trial and error for some people, so again be patient and take a little humor out of it. Your mother sounds like a great person to help you out with your basic necessities. Thank her by showing her that you can manage your money and life better.

Good luck and take care.

maybe you are just scared that when you DO eat the food it will be all gone and there will be none same with your money..its like you are happy you got it now and you dont wanna lose it..get it?

Hmmm, its all experience, in time you'll learn how to budget and save. Maybe this is good that you realize what you've been doing and now you will make an actual attempt to change your impulsive spending, eating etc...
