Question about Ritalin Prescription?!

Question: Last night my idiot boyfriend accidently took 2 of my Ritalins thinking that they were something else. Obviously he didn't read the label. I am actually really upset. This is the first medicine that has actually made a huge difference in my life. Now I'm like 2 1/2 days short. Because this drug has such a high risk for abuse the doctor can't actually write a refill, he has to write a seperate prescription. He did do that. The other prescription says that Federal Law prevents refills and to not refill until after 30 days of the first prescription. Can the doctor do anything at this point? I can't tell him that my bf accidently took them because then he may stop giving them to me. Should I just pick 2 1/2 days that I just want to lay on the couch and sleep all day? He suggested that I call them and tell them that for the last couple of days I have been taking 3 insted of 2 because they seem to not be working as well as in the beginning. Any ideas? Please help.

There's actually been a lot of times I've been short on medication either because of the pharmacy or some secretary screwing up or because I took extra because I was really messed up or forgot whether or not I had already taken it. All I do is cut my dosage back(usually in half). I'm actually short 10 Ambiens right now because some idiot pharmacist gave me 20 instead of 30. I'm just taking 5 milligrams now instead of 10. If you absolutely can not do anything then I would cut your dosage back instead of stopping cold turkey. Probably the safest thing to do is every couple of days or so take 3/4s of a pill instead of a whole one.

You should tell your bf to go to a doctor to be checked out becuase the perscriptions were for you and not him . It is better to be honest with your doctor and tell him the accident that happend.

Just say that you spilled the bottle and you think 2 of them fell down the drain cause you couldn't find them after you picked them all up.

Heck no. I was on that stuff. Don't tell your doctor anything but the truth. Or maybe that you lost two. But don't get your prescription upped. That may lead you to become addicted by having a few extra each month.

Dump the drug abusing bf and get yourself off the amphetamines. Your not going to do that though so maybe try taking a half dose every other day for a week. That should even you back out. Good luck and God Bless.

Ritalin, like many other drugs are very dangerous to quit cold turkey. You NEED that medication and you are going to have to talk to your doctor to get those replace. Lost them, Boyfriend error. I would confess the boyfriend error so that you can find out about HIS risk by making the mistake. Obviously if this became a habit you and your doctor would have reason to be concerned, but I would think that the doctor would give you and the BF the benefit of the doubt on a first occurance. Please do not think of just winging this and sleeping on the couch... don't put yourself at the much risk!
Be safe!

Wrong Wrong Wrong .........Your boyfriend knew what he was doing don't be so giving you are the one who will suffer /Your doctor is protecting you plus himself.....your dose is two a day /why are you two and a half days short /that's five pills you don't have because your boyfriend helped himself....lying to your doctor news flash DOCTORS are not stupid ...telling him some made up story because ''HE''who is he your boyfriend not good/ telling your doctor you up the dose /not good/ I would try to keep FROM LAYING ON A COUCH for two days whats wrong with you sound as if you can't function without this medicine /you can/ take less and in that half day you have none get it filled and keep the meds away from ''HIM''......Kara
