Help please! What can I do to not get so mad?!

Question: I'm always getting angry over things, big or small.
I can't take it anymore! There is no gradual increase, my anger spikes so quickly that I immediately want to punch someone or something.
I'm afraid I'll accidentally hurt someone (or myself) one of these days if I continue to have this anger problem.

The problem is, I don't know WHY I'm getting so angry and I can't help it. I don't know HOW to calm myself down successfully. I need to know WHAT I can do to avoid getting angry.

It's not freakin hormones anymore. this has been goin on for a long time and it's consistent. I think something's wrong, but I don't know if it's serious or anything.

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining or ranting, but I REALLY need help! I feel like I'm going to explode sometimes and I don't know what to do. DX
(counting to 10 or 100 doesn't work! it only makes me feel like an idot and that makes me more mad).

thanks for helping.

do push ups or other exercises. this gets the extra adrenalin out of your brain and will leave you feeling great. do as many as possible. running as fast as you can or punching a pillow is also a great way.

You could listen to this song every time you start to feel angry..

take a deep breath and drink some water just try not to get mad ok!

smoke sum erb it helps me

maybe you have bipolar disorder. for that you should go see a doctor, they'd be able to help. also a therapist will help too. for now, maybe get a stress ball? :)

i have noticed that crying doesnt help @ all anymore, u need to target the stressor and TALK to someone weather its a friend or a therapist. i help me so much to talk to someone that is going throught the same thing. hope i was of help- good luck!! :~)

go see a physiologist then go smoke sum weed

this happens to me too just remmember that when you get mad again think of something you really like or something you look forward to. or just think of how mad your getting and laugh at yourself at how stupid you look and sound..

lol i should try that!! :D

maybe you are depressed
depression makes people irritable
or maybe you should try anger management
or relaxing or something

OMG!!!! i have the same problem. I get so angry over the littlest things. Have you tried seeing someone to talk about your problems? This is probably gonna sound bad but what helps me calm down is smoking weed. not alot but just enough to feel better. I am not a drug addict and i have a steady relationship and a great job. I still have problems getting mad. I hope other people comment so i can get some ideas too.

ok...think about what you are getting mad over, and if it is worth blowing up! just take a second and if its something stupid, let it go...however if its really big, then think of a way to resolve your problem with the person. just try to relax.

You avoid it by avoiding sources of stress that trigger it, but avoiding it is not the answer. Channel it into something else. Laugh at how ridiculous a situation is, even if the joke is on you. Did something happen that is always in the back of your mind bugging you? Confront it and solve it. Did your parents get angry easily? Do the opposite of what they did or find another role model who handles anger better. If you are not like that every day, then it probably IS hormones and you may need to see a doctor. Try singing "I feel pretty" when you get angry. Watch the movie "Anger Management".

If you are having emotional problems during certain times of the month preferably first or second weeks before your period, you could have pmdd. With pmdd you experience a combination of emotional and physical symptoms that are severe to significantly interfere with how you function. You can research it. There are many web sites that expand on the symptoms and treatments. Good Luck.
