Can you help me control an anxious situation?!


Question: I suffer from general anxiety ad i am on a low dose of anti-depressant. I am much calmer these days. If you knew me, you would think that I do not suffer from any form of depression or anxiety. I appear to be very confident and I am very outgoing.

It is only my very very close friends that know that I suffer from anxiety. Anyho, I am sensitive to how others are feeling and I easily pick up on their anxiety. My one friend suffers from anxiety and she is visiting tomorrow.

I am feeling anxious already. I don't get it, we are great friends and I have no reason to feel like this. I almost feel like taking a diazapam tomorrow to calm my nerves. I don't want to rely on diazapam's to get me through what I am perceiving as uncomfortable. Sooo silly..

There is anxiety already starting and the day isn't here yet. Try to live your life one day at a time. Try to stay in the now - here in the moment. Tell yourself that all will be fine. There is something that you are afraid of. You can sit quietly in your room and maybe it will come to you. Keep practising deep breathing. It seems to relax the mind. Then whisper a prayer that she be safe and that all goes well tomorrow. You will find that you need less medication if you learn how to relax your mind and body. Good luck tomorrow.
