How should I stop taking cymbalta, i want to quit taking it and don't know h!

Question: just simply stop taking it

Answers: just simply stop taking it

whatever you do do not listen to idiots that say "just stop taking it"

you have to gradually stop taking it. have you told your doctor that you no longer want to take it? maybe they can offer something else and they can also recommend how to gradually ween yourself off.

if you quit cold turkey then be prepared for a wild and painful time. its like a junkie coming off of crack. you get the shivers, you puke all the time, you feel like youre going to die.

why are you trying to stop?
are you authorized by your doctor?
i wouldn't stop unless i had the green light to do so.

It can be dangerous to just stop taking some meds. I am not sure about Cymbalta and my PDR is too old for me to find Cymbalta in it. Someone must have prescribed the Cymbalta for you so why not call him/her and ask for help getting off of it. Even if that doctor doesn't want you to come off, they are liable to help if you insist. I went off all psychotropic meds with the help of my doctor and that led me into recovery and onto totally different meds so it was a good thing. If you somehow got the Cymbalta w/o a prescription then call a pharmacist and ask for help...or a drug and alcohol hotline...or poisen control. All of them will keep you anonymous and you don't even have to give them your real name.

First never just stop taking any medication. It could be harmful to do it cold turkey. Have you spoken to your doctor? Some medications cause withdrawls if you stop without tapering off. That means decrease the amount you take each day. Say you take 20mg of a certain med, you might decrease it by half. Do this for at least a week or two. Decrease it again. Always speak to your doctor before stopping any medication.
