We always hear people say "Life is too short"?!

Question: I just dont agree! Actually life is too long. I am 30 y/o and with my own will and attempt I have achieved all my goals.
And I am 30 now! So what is next? Nothing is interesting anymore.
I live with my gf,
I have started helping others also but even that is not enjoyable (but I keep helping some poor)

So people! please share your opinions and let me know what I am missing.

I deeply appreciate it :)

Hello,
First, congrats on achieving all your goals by age 30. That's awesome!

I think you just need a little more excitement or adventure in your life right now. However, you didn't exactly state what you have achieved. So, I'm just being very careful with the following suggestions as not to make any assumption:

- you said you have started helping others, which is great. I understand that the activity itself is not necessarily enjoyable. Maybe you'd like to take on traveling, if you haven't done so? Traveling takes one out of the familiar surroundings/comfort zone and gives a different perspective about life. No matter how short of far of trip you make you notice different people, ways to approach life, food, etc. Traveling gives you the sensation of short time span. Which do you prefer: roadtripping, beaches, cruises, etc?

- take up some new skills: consulting, carpenting, home improvement, cooking, kayaking, etc.

- pursue a graduate degree, if you'd like. It's an investment and a real personal life challenge.

- most importantly, ask yourself what you wish you would do or get right now. Make a list and find out if you can pursue your wishes.

I hope it helps. Good luck and take care.

Life is shorter than you'd think in the long run, but life is also the longest thing you'll ever deal with.

Well you live with your gf. Get married and start a family.

marry your girlfriend and start a family with her and once you see your first child life will change for you and then you will have wayyy more goals

There are so many things left to do. Travel , go on a mission trip, get married, have kids. Go to the bible and read, God will lead the way.

You probably wouldn't say that if you knew that your time on earth was limited and that your life could end at any moment. I think that's what the saying means.

People of all ages go about living there lives and then BAM: something happens that hinders it or ends it. Therefore, life is too short because you never know.

As for you, 30 isn't old or anywhere near it. If you don't enjoy the things you do, find something that you do enjoy and then do it. If you don't want to do that then don't.

I went thru the same thing a few years ago at 30. Writing a list of things I live to see or do helped, such as curiosity at how the world will be in years to come. Maybe you are depressed and need to see a therapist to work out your interests.

Abraham Mazlow, spoke of self actualization as being a life long process. Part of this process, is striving for the idealize self. It is not attainable, and requires goals being adjusted, and reset though out ones life time.
Would suggest you live life to the fullest, and then when you reach "old age", ask this question again with in the context of the benefit to your fellow man you have been by being here.

I'm 42. When I was 30 I never said life is to short. I was full
of life and never thought about how much time I had left.
I do now. As I've gotten older, my health has changed alot,
and realizing what can happen and how quickly life can just
end is not a pleasant thought for most. The past 42 years were great, but physically things change, and you will understand what I mean when your body starts to slow down.
It will. It's a natural progression for us all. Those are the times
when people say life is to short. We wish we could go back and in time or feel the way we used to. You'll know what I mean when it happens to you.

"Life isn't short, death is just long."
