Its a damn shame what your going through. Autism has effected my life as well. My best friend has one son, and he was diagnosised about a year ago. To tell you the truth support is hard to find. I have talked with him and he too is scared about when his son gets older and what is best for him. I am most likely not telling you anything new here, but my suggestion is to go to some of the autism societys support groups and network with the other parents, they may have some suggestions or thought, or experiences that mey be helpful to you.
BTW thank your husband for all of us. And thank you for being a military wife. I work with wounded soldiers in the VA system, there is alot of pride for them and appreciation for the spouses.

I don't have an autistic child so I know that I cannot help you. I just drop by to say that I have put you on my list of prayers so you can find an answer to your question. And also wanted you to know that my heart goes out to you and your family.

I do feel for you, you have so many things to deal with.
I'm afraid I'm in UK so know nothing of US services. But I would like to say I have had two friends with kids with autism whose early behaviour was unmanagable, they are now teens and much better controlled although still needing lots of support. And present circumstances will undoubtedly affect your son's behaviour as well.
My best wishes to you

See autism, in section 12, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris and try him on the modified diet. There is a good deal of information in my website, but I suggest that you also contact the state and national bodies, and Groups, at Myspace, Yahoo, and Google,
